We live near an old slave cemetery high on Peters Mountain that needed tending.  During the Boy Scout Jamboree, there were inquires for work days for the thousands of troops visiting north of here.  We applied, troops from middle Tennessee cam to work in the summer sun and cleaned up the grave markers.  We hope that they took away as much good will and history as they left behind.  Thank you Boy Scouts of America.

On a more personal note, some of the graves they repaired were siblings and relatives of Dr. Henry Lake Dickason, the subject of my soon-to-be published biography entitled, “Try and Be Somebody.”  Will let you know when it is available.
