I was honored to be asked to sign my latest book, Try and Be Somebody,” at the annual Monroe County Historical Society Wine and Cheese Party at Salt Sulphur Springs, WV. Over a hundred people attended, some in Civil War era clothing. The setting was delightful: imagine a cool fall afternoon, a few bright fall leaves still dotting the forest, a vintage hotel with wide worn plank floors and a roaring fire in the stone fireplace. Daughter Katie helped me and we both enjoyed visiting with old friends and making new ones.
